Why sea water is salt?

You must have been engrossed in the swim by the beach and accidentally swallowed the seawater right? Yes, it must be salty. Why sea water is salt? In fact, the water was tasteless for example rainwater, rivers, and even ice are not salty.

Have you ever wondered how much salt is dissolved in seawater? or is it not salt that causes salty sea water?

You realize not if the water that we drink every day actually contains elements of salt! However, we can not taste salt because its concentration is too low. Well, salt taste in seawater it can be caused by several factors. The first factor why saltwater is when it rains on land, water from the sky falls into the soil, then the water flows through the rivers to the sea.

Then the salty taste comes from where? The answer is when water flows into the sea, water brings dissolved mineral salts so that the sea is filled with mineral salts. Also, by the time the water reaches the ocean, the water is experiencing evaporating! In this evaporation process, water evaporates into the air while mineral salts stay with the sea water.

The last factor of salt water is the activity of underwater volcanism and the eruption of underwater volcanoes. This is similar to a previous process where seawater reacts with hot stones dissolving some salt minerals. Some dissolved salts react with hot stones and separate from water.

Keep in mind also, it turns out, salinity in seawater from year to year it remains the same! Even seawater has the same salt for hundreds of millions to billions of years! How could that be? The answer is that the salt content has now reached a stable state. In fact, it takes hundreds of millions of years to equate salt levels in the sea! The dissolved salt that is sent from the river and from the evaporation process will be the same number every year. This is due to the continuous hydrological cycle that does not stop.

sea water is salt and u can taste it

The water cycle never stops from the atmosphere to earth and returns to the atmosphere through condensation, precipitation, evaporation, and transpiration processes. Every hydrological cycle occurs, water brings mineral salts from land to sea and water evaporates back into the atmosphere. However, salt remains in the sea so it feels salty sea water and constantly increasing levels.

If you're curious, you can make a simple experiment! You can better understand why sea water is salty. The trick is easy! The required equipment is just salt, tablespoon, a glass of water, a pot and a stove. First enter a spoon of salt into a glass, then fill with water. Once dissolved trying you to heat the water in the pan. Wait until the water runs out, on the surface of the pot there are salt crystals. Well, this process is an example of what happens in nature!

So in conclusion, the reason why saltwater is:

1. Delivered salt delivery from the rivers
2. The process of evaporation of seawater into the air
3. Volcanic activity under the sea

You already understand, why saltwater? Do not forget the answer!
